A gorgeous cubistic still life with a bold, powerful palette and a fantastic composition by a very accomplished and individual artist. In a beautifully distressed silver gilt frame.

Gustav-Adolf Johansson (1912 - 2011) was a Swedish painter, graphic artist and cartoonist. Johansson studied drawing at the ABC School in Stockholm, where he received a Paris scholarship that led to studies at the Académie Julian in Paris. He made his debut in the Borås and Sjuhäradsbygden exhibition at the Borås Art Museum in 1944, and he participated in the 12th Graphic Triennial at the Stockholm Academy of Fine Arts in 2003. Johansson is represented at the National Museum, Värmland Museum, Örebro County Museum, Borås Art Museum, the Swedish Art Council, the House of Graphics, the Central Post Office's art collection and in several Swedish municipalities.
