Mid-Century Abstract Watercolour by Gösta Idås
A really cool and unusual vintage abstract watercolour by Gösta Idås. Boldly coloured geometric shapes that could represent stylised bull and toreador. A lovely decorative piece!
Gösta Harry Idås (1912 - 1996) was a Swedish painter and drawing teacher. Raised in Lund he moved to Stockholm in 1937 and attended Stockholm's advertising school where he met his future wife Dagny. Idås's first exhibition was Anonymous Artists in Stockholm in 1942. In the following years, Idås exhibited together with the artists Lennart Pilotti, Kurt Arvòr, Gerry Eckhardt and the sculptor Leif Christerssen in Stockholm, Örebro, Härnösand, Skellefteå, Eksjö and Västerås.
In 1955 the family moved to Boglösa parish just south of Enköping and Idås worked as an artist and later also as an art teacher in the municipality's schools.
